False Peace

I'm sitting in the corniche lawn facing the "M" building in front of a man-made lake, at the back is a busy street where cars come and go. Numerous people are roaming around and I'm not in the mood to do the same. I chose to have a place of my own, unavailable to anyone. My solitude.

As I thought it seems peaceful. No violence, no troubles, and no problem. People are having their good times with their relatives, friends, and acquaintances.

The wind is blowing to my ears and the moon is staring at me, and I stared back. The smell of Krispy Kreme donut blends well in my surrounding air which is inviting and fascinating at once. Everything appears to be satisfactory and restful. The community looks satisfied and content with whatever they are doing right now. As I can see.

Rarely we realized this peace is an expensive commodity, the cost behind this entails multifarious negotiations and agreements. What lies beyond  this moment might be difficult for us to grasp. Thousands of people around the globe used to live without this privilege, to live a peaceful life. Are we really living in peace? I doubt. Or we are just dreaming that we are living peacefully though most of us don't even have peace of mind and heart.

The truth is (my truth) in order for us to enjoy what we have now, hundreds of lives are at stake. Out of ignorance, we thought it is free but it is almost a hoax. We are killing our time to be entertained with things that are materially delivered to us. From within, there are coercion and disturbance of emotions. This is not the real peace that we  yearn for since time immemorial.

We ignorantly seeking for peace on this earth, but it is not possible to attain such here, people who love violence, ruthless act for humankind to perish.

People are not innocent. The people who soldiers once fought to protect are culpable. They don’t know that there are some who have been risking lives for their peace! They just enjoy their peace in ignorance. They keep on living their lives of peace and security! They don’t even realize that they’re being protected. Indulged them to false peace.

To live at the expense of other people‘s misfortune.

(again, this is my truth, not a general truth, no need to accept this and was not created to convince. It is a plain overflowing thought of mine)

  • Dear Risty! Inner peace is the true peace. I know most of the time our lives are chaotic but we can find peace if we want.

Thanks a lot for the wonderful post.

  • Kamusta Risty Aven, ang gusto mong kapayapaan? I am afraid, it's rare nowadays, but let's try for the best and let's hope that peace will be all over the world.
