When I was small, I always enjoyed going out with my father except for the visits to the dentist. Besides the pain of the needles, I had to endure the horrible sound of the drill. Apart from this, I hated the way my dentist worked inside my mouth with his tools.
Once I told my father about this and he said, "You have no other choice except to go for regular dental check-ups if you want to keep your teeth healthy and beautiful, Shoba."
After that I learned to bite the bullet and put up with my dentist. Sometimes we have to be brave and learn to endure a painful or an unpleasant situation if it cannot be avoided.
It may be painful when we have to tell our boy/girl friend that we want to break up the relationship. We may not like it when we have to deal with a noisy neighbor. For some of us, exercising regularly to keep us fit could be unpleasant.
In such circumstances, we just have to bite the bullet and force ourselves to do the unpleasant task. Besides, no pain no gain, right?

Thanks for your "hahahaha", dear Afro. :)

Hi dear Mary,
I like the way you have put it, "They are especially trained to be sadists." Thank you for stopping by. I am pleased to read your comment here and I enjoy all your postings around MyEC. :)
Thank you for your comment, dear Evangelina. As you said, I think it is only fear that makes some of us hate dentists.
That's great, dear Setareh. I guess your kids are better at biting the bullet than their sweet mom. Thanks for dropping by.
haha I can't agree more with that sentence (a woman saying "I'm not mad at you' is like a dentist saying "you won't feel a thing") Yeah... I hate my dentist... I think they are especially trained to be sadists :P
Very cool and well written blog, thanks for sharing Shoba!
Dear Shoba, great job! i took my kids to the dentist for check-up from the time they were very samll and the way they behaved shocked me. They were so brave and calm unlike their mother.:)
Thank you very much for your appreciating words and liking my post, Sir Expector. I feel very happy. :)
Thank you very much, dear Adaline, Mr. Frank, Serene and Mitran for your encouraging words. I am happy to be among people like you. :)
Dear Jet,
I am sorry to hear about your friend's experience. I hope she will be brave and try to find a solution for her problem. Just because something bad happened to us once doesn't mean it will happen again.
Thank you for your nice comment. I really appreciate it.
