English Club! Have a long life!

English Club is a growing community! Still 15 years old! On the other hand, EC is a system with a common goal! The goal of EC is of two folds mainly, teaching English and learning English! There are teachers as well as experienced individuals to guide the learners like me within the system. Teachers, experienced individuals and learners are the components of the system! The system has a boundary, and there are inter-relationships among all components! Each and every component has a unique identity, but they all work together to achieve the common goal of EC. The system functions in a systematic manner to survive as a viable system among other systems! Like every system, the EC is dealt with the rest of the world through inputs and outputs! There are many websites in the internet for the interests of English language; I feel that EC is having a distinctive identity among them! The EC works closely with other sites as a humble friend for the improvement of English language!

English is an international language, and to my knowledge, English is the most popular language in the world. On this background, acquiring a fairly good knowledge in English is a pre-requisite in modern world. But, it does not mean that other languages are of less importance! English is specially used in British colonies, some colonies use English as the official language while others use it as a secondary language. According to the constitution of my country, English is considered as the link language! Some educational institutes are established in my country to improve English language; the British Council plays a leading role in this regard! The people who live around the commercial city could easily gain good opportunities in English learning while the innocent masses living far from the urban areas gain a little to nothing! Some people like me learned English through the self-study with the assistance of text books! But, it is now easy because of the internet, I am still learning!

There is a book society in India being “English Language Book Society (ELBS)”, which provides English books at an affordable rate for countries in this region. The books of this society are available in some book shops in my country for local learners. In this context, I am happy to mention at this juncture that EC is providing an immeasurable service to the people like me! I learn something new every day when I am with EC! Yes, I feel that English club is a “safe-haven” for people like me!

Good Luck!

Bimal

  • Dear Prostomolotova Galina,

    Thank You So Much!

I am pleased to mention here that I regularly learn from you all! Actually, I am not a teacher in English, and hence, I attentively read blogs, comments and other e-documents appeared in EC to absorb something new to me! I have gained more by reading your blogs and some e-documents in your page, especially, wording patterns and so forth! I believe that Knowledge is belonged to ALL, and hence I make an attempt all the time to learn from others! Another fact I believe is that knowledge is not generated in a single brain, and hence, we all have to share knowledge!

    Good Luck!
