At the end of every month, we feature seven MyEC Members as Star Members. A picture of these members goes into our monthly newsletter. A picture is also placed on the EnglishClub homepage.

Help Tara Find Star Members
Finding MyEC members to feature (that have not been featured recently) is quite a big challenge these days. Many of you have your Settings as private. We cannot feature pages that are set to private, because the public cannot see the content. When we feature you in the newsletter, we want everyone to be able to see your great page.
Do you want to be a Star Member? Please check your privacy settings.
1. Go to Settings in the top right corner of your page.
2. Choose Privacy.
3. Change Visibility to Anyone. (You can set individual posts or content as private.)
You can also recommend someone as a Star Member. Make sure that your friend's page is set to Public first. To test it, sign out of MyEC and see if you can still view their profile page. If you can, great! Add a link to your friend's page in the comments below or send me a private message. Thanks for your help!

I should also mention that our mods help choose the Star Members by recommending content that should be featured in the newsletter. We try to align the stars with the features when possible! Also, once a star, always a star. However, the only way to get a Star to show up at the front of the featured members for the monthly photo is to "unfeature" and "feature" again. (In case you ever wonder why you are unfeatured temporarily).
Onee-chan,, the same I wanted to ask. I even didn't see some people active or that they wrote blogs or had an active group.
Once I was a star member, I wonder why I'm not again coz I'm active and my blogs were featured and...and...and.... :D
I want to understand the mechanism coz it should be effective. If any help is needed for looking for such active and creative people. Tara can use time and recommendations of other chatters.

I've been chosen as star member on February this year....and what I meant here is .... 6 months later...it happened.

Hello Tara, I´ve been here for five years, and I have to admit, it has been a good experience; I must recognize your efforts in order to mantain and improve this wonderful website.
I´m sure choosing a MyEC Star Member, it´s not easy, there are many interesting pages, wonderful blogs, nice pictures... But I think you must review Onee-chan idea, it´s a good suggestion to choose new MyEC Star members, not becuase the actual Star members don´t deserve the recognition but others members deserve too.
I´ve been selected a Star Member once, although I´m here for learning English, I felt good when I see my picture on the EnglishClub homepage.

Great question, Onee-chan! These are the most active members. They work hard to keep our site full of new content. Also, as mentioned, it is becoming more and more difficult to find active members who have their settings as Public. If you feel that someone has been missed, please let me know! I spend quite a long time going through profiles every month, trying to select members who are active, who haven't been chosen already, and who have their settings as Public. I could use your help. Thanks!

First, thank you very much for your efforts in choosing star members. I realized it's a bit difficult to make a wise decision.
But, I have a question about this.
I noticed that the current star member often be chosen from star members on several months before (2-6 month), even the previous month. Even I see 1 member is chosen as a star thrice in 6 months. Why? This question come in mind, because I think other members also deserve to be stars, no, I'm not jealous. :D Why not about 1 year, so a star can be chosen again, just an idea.
For the current stars, I see one of them is even not active in this month. So, why. .be chosen? Just wondering why...
