Do you like to look up the traditional dictionary when you want to figure out the meanings of words? Or you like checking by using the electronic gadgets or searching from the internet likeCambridge dictionary online (http://dictionary.cambridge.org/ ). Which one is better for learners? It all depends on what habit you are used to checking and what kind of situation you need to know the words and what your level is. I usually use the dictionary online to make sure the meanings or spelling of the words I may suddenly forget when replying e-mails to the customers during the working time. If I have sparetime to read books or magazines at home, I prefer the traditional one to electronic gadget or checking online since I can find more detailed explanations of each word's meaning in simple English leisurely, and also it demonstrates some sentences for the useage of each word so that I can know how to make sentences myself next time. By looking up the traditional dictionary that could also strengthen my memory to the words I've checked becuase I like the feeling of touching the real papers.
Me too, Martin. The electronic gadget is true more convenient and faster than the traditional one. It saves us much time. But, I think the traditional one is still needed to exist.
Thanks a lot for the useful links. They might help my work more effective.
