I am still learning English and when I write blog or chat to my friends. I always need the dictionary with me. As usual, I use it on my computer or my cell-phone. Since EC has dictionary in the right of my computer. It is helpful/convenience to me. But hihihi…as I said above. My English is still poor so sometimes when I want to find some words and if I type wrong words that I can not find what is it? I mean : look at my example : “comfor” instead of “comfort”. Then my dictionary will ask me :
In my dictionary, if I type wrong then it will ask me : “Is it the word that you want to find?” and the dictionary will give me some “approach to word/nearly word” that it is guess, and I only to click into it.
And here is EC’s dictionary :
I know, including the dictionary here is a good job that our Teacher done. I dare not to ask more the help. I just give my ideal. Hope you don’t mind.

I'll say, it's always nice to see the new updates on EC. And for "Dictionary" it's really helpful for all of us. It's working on my PC and it's nice to see that it is moved to left side.

The dictionary app is still functioning for me. Except, it's now at left corner.
I haven't noticed it to remarkably slowing down the page. Neither on my desktop, nor at netbook. Perhaps it could, in some other computers with different configuration.
Actually the MyEc site, have always been a bit slow in browser, when scrolling the page. Maybe it really might start slowing down, when some critical point is exceeded with features load.
Well, the dictionary app is a good thing, but it's also true, that it really seems like not integrating the site too well. At least not as well as chatroom have got integrated. So, I personally don't have any claims nor complains, if it won't work out and have to be removed. Although bitty, but then it's just tha can't be helped situation. ^_^
Yet it's strange, that I haven't heard people complain, that the chatroom thing slowing the site down. :D

Note also that the dictionary on EC was mainly intended for words already on the page. Double click any word on the page and it would show in the dictionary. For this purpose, there is no need for a drop-down.
Does the drop-down dictionary that you demonstrated also have a double-click function for any word on the page? If so, it might be a better choice for the future.

ohhhh.....Ya, I see it deleted. No, My computer is OK. I mean : the dictionary is quickly, (the problem is...hehehe...I typo the word). And about the chat room. lol....Nothing happens to me because I rarely (never) use the chat room...So please try a place for the dictionary. But as for me. I like it in the right.

The app worked well on my computer. I think it sould be added back.
The dictionary app has been removed from MyEC for now. We are looking into whether it should be added back in a new location or not. Some chatters were having trouble accessing the chat room. Others said it slowed down the site. Please share your own feedback.
