Hi guys, the article below is what I've prepared for my public speaking session in my English language course this Tuesday. My pleasure if you guys can give me some comment what should I add in the article or correct the grammar mistakes if any. Or suggest me better sentences than what I've presented. Thanks.
Once, there was an old carpenter who intended to retire from his job. He felt exhausted and felt that he can no longer endure the tiring work, he wanted to spend the rest of his life with his family. So, he told his employer about his desire for retiring. Therefore, the employer agreed with the carpenter's decision, but under one condition."You have to build me one last house,"said his boss. "Of course, Sir. I'm agree and will build it only for the last time."
The carpenter was pleased and agreed with the condition set by his employer. But, his joyful for retirement overtook his spirit and skills during the works. As a result, the house he built was completed with nonchalant and unconcerned, without specific research and using low quality of woods. The house was completed in a short period of time.
When his employer saw the house be completed, he took the house's key and gave it to the carpenter and said, "This is a gift to celebrate your retirement. Have a nice and comfortable retirement and spending time with your family. Happy retirement."
The old man was startled with his employer's words. He didn't expect that the last house he built would be his. He regretted for what he had done by building the house in a hurry and if he knew before, he would have built the house with utmost care and used high quality of materials.
So guys,
"Deep regret first before results, then regret nothing" and "it's no use crying of a spilled milk."
