Today English Club tells us that crush is a slang word.
I hope you all know what the real meaning of crush is. It means to break or smash something in to very small pieces. Sometimes local governments (city, county, state) or building companies will crush rock into small pieces to use for material in building new roads. And if you have some crushed ice, you can make a snow cone!!! (What is a snow cone?)
Sometimes crush can be used in a negative sense, like defeat. Remember when Manchester United crushed Liverpool 6-0 in football? Or you could say the government crushed the revolution; something King George III did NOT do! Or the girl was crushed when her boyfriend left her for another girl. How sad.
So English Club is telling us today that Crush means a strong feeling of love or infatuation for someone. Now, if I am allowed to make up some improvised terms here, let’s say the person with the crush is the Crusher and the person who is the object of this crush is the Crushee. You can’t imagine what a problem that can be.
For all of my days as a young man in America, I was haunted by stalking and lurking crushers. I couldn’t walk through the halls of the school without the girls staring at me and giggling as I walked by. I would walk into class and the girls would start winking at me. Then they would start writing notes to pass to me while the teacher was talking. It was a terrible distraction. The teacher would inevitably blame me for the disruption and make me sit at the back of the classroom. That way when the girls turned around to look at me, she could see who was not paying attention and reprimand them. Is it my fault I was more handsome than Rudolph Valentino, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ahmed Angel put together?
Every time I would score the winning point for my college football, basketball or baseball team, the announcer would cry out: George Clooney does it again!!! It was such a burden to put on the shoulders of a young, innocent and yet incredibly good looking guy like me. Can you imagine the pain when the crushee tries to ignore the crusher and her heart is crushed?
But I do remember one wonderful moment in Sunday school when little Sally, daughter of Reverend Billy Graham gave me my first Orange Crush and a kiss. (What’s that?) Ohhh how sweet life can be.

Nice blog, I thought "crush" just means to break or smash something in to very small pieces.
Lol .. I got a crush on your blog. Thanks for the many uses of the word 'CRUSH'. It's like an expanded thesaurus.
A very good piece of satirical literature. I like your style.
Oi there,
Hmmmm....in my high-school days there was a saying - to have a crush on somebody = have a liking or strong feeling towards somebody. It was a typically teen slang or rather, jargon.
Nowadays I don't hear the "crush" being used in that meaning. Well, I guess like all teen jargons, this expression has been abandoned and gained different meanings. By the way, sometimes it was frustrating to have a crush and being ignored....
Hahahahaha ... Thank God you were never been deported for being too 'handsome'. like some 'Ahmed Angel'. LOL. Otherwise all those dithery girls will be crushed.
