Some years ago, I found another way of traveling, yes cruising. Ships use to be so big. This last one I took could harbour 3900 passengers with a crew of 1200 people. The members of the crew are formed by waiters, cleaning service, enterteiners, cooks... and obviously the captain and people in charge to manage the ship. Summing up, they are like "small moving towns" where you can find everything you need; restaurants, cafes, casino, a cinema room, discotheque, a library, swimming pools, a gym with spa area... even you can play tennis, basket or running in the upper desk. Children have also other places where they have fun like water sledges or play centers.

These "small towns" departs every day from the harbour of one city to another and passengers can go ashore and visit it by themselves or going on excursions they choose offered by the ship.
In this last trip we decided to go to the Norwegian fiords. The ship departed from Copenhaguen but we stayed there for three days before taking the ship and visit this elegant city and the modern Malmö in Sweden. These two cities are connected by an amazing bridge called Oresund.

During the cruise, the first city we visited was Hellesyt, and for me that was the best excursion. We walked for around 25 kms. in this fiord. We could see huge frozen lakes, admire wonderful landscapes, or eating delicious Norwegian fresh salmon.
The following day the ship departed to Bergen, the sedcond largest city in Norway. Here we could taste the whale meat (I never tasted before) or watching spectacular views from the city. The next cities the ship stopped were Kristiansund, Oslo and Kiel, in the north of Germany.
Once in Copenhaguen again at the end of the cruise, we decided to spend another five days more to keep on discovering the rest of Denmark, one of the most beautiful countries I,ve ever visited, well, one of the most expensive too. So we took the train to the north of the continental side and visited Odense (the birth town of Hans Christian Andersen) and Århus.
I would also like to comment in this travel my meeting with an old online friend I met in Ec. It was a real great experience that I will never forget. We gave each other presents and she took me to some places where tourists surely would never discover.
I won`t expand any more not to boring you so fell free to ask, comment or criticise what you fell like :)

Since I come from a warm country, all those landscapes full waterfalls and the contrast between the green of plants and trees, and the white of snow and frozen lakes made me enjoy like a child, wishing the day never finish. Lol, this make me remember now that, in fact during my days in that latitudes near the polar circle, it didn't get dark in the nights. It was another strange but nice experience To me.
As for the photo you refer, it's in Bergen and I took it from the top of a mountain during a hiking excursion. At first it was so foggy and the city couldn't be watched, luckily clouds started to vanish. Btw, the ship can be seen on the right of the pic.
Hi Estanis!
Beautiful photos and blog! I was curios and waiting for reading about your trip, but I was too busy to notice it on time. I think the best part of your cruise is visiting frozen lakes beautiful landscape and walking in fiords. It's interesting experience for people from sunny countries :) BTW, the last photo is taken from a high distance, how did you take it? I know you didn't steal it from the net :)))))))
The awesome of my experience is directly proportional to my postvacacional syndrome.
As you well say, traveling makes us knowing new cultures, places, people, and mostly it makes us open minded even tolerant. At least it works like that with me and I really enjoy a lot so I don't mind spending money on it and ask for God for keep on doing it :)
Btw, thanks for volunteer if I ever visit Colombia, I'll bear in mind. Surely it must be amazing too.
Hello Estanis, congrats, just enjoy your travel. Knowing new places, cultures, people, it sounds great. And don´t worry about money, remember money is a good slave but bad master.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful experience, remember if you decide to visit Colombia, just tell me, I´m sure you would enjoy this travel.
Have a nice day my friend.
Hi Noaslpls! Glad to see you :)
Yes, they are expensive countries but since I don`t have expensives hobbies and I love traveling, now it`s my best invest so I started to save money again for my next one haha... after all we only live once :D
I`ll give you this pic to encourage you to visit it some day. Here you can see a view of Kobenhavn and in a clear day you can also see Sweden connected by the bridge.
Hi Mr. Expector,
Glad you liked it. As for cruise ship,s safety, all passengers must do a rehearsal of emergency response the first day. It last for so long since there are many people and everyone have to learn where to go and what to do in that case.
Here is a pic of our practise drill
How I envy you. I've travelled a few places but never take any cruise. Travelling by ferry was totally different though the ferry that I took from Dublin to England was quite big. Thanks for sharing. I hope one day I will be able to travel to some of those Scandinavian countries, but maybe I have to find a millionaire cat first before I can go because they are expensive countries to travel. :D :D :D :D :D :D
Great! Thanks for sharing.
It seems that we don't need to be concerned about cruise-ship's safety.
Yeah, surely Copenhaguen is the city I most liked in this travel and 'Nihavn' its most beautiful area. But I also liked the politeness of the people. I still remember when we just arrived and a woman offered me her help since she saw me a little worried looking at a map trying to find my hotel.
Btw, I found several Lego shops since they're Danish. I couldn't help buying a small pack box for my son haha... even there's a theme park of Lego although we didn't visit.
Well, I hope to visit it again some day. I promised to The Little Mermaid ;-)
Thanks for your reply my friend.
