CORRECTIONS

Most learners want their writings to be corrected by a Teacher of English, an English Native Speaker, or at least a member who's fluent in English. But you may see this rarely happen here. Have you ever thought why? Hey, who doesn’t want to be taught English freely?? Your writing may be understandable enough. Maybe it's about the language, not always the grammar. I think it would be a hard work to correct all the writings by the non-English Native Speakers. :)

You’re very enthusiastic in learning English here. You made an effort to write something you like and tagged or asked for correction, hoping that your post would be corrected. Time passed by and now you have many blogs without any corrections. Will you stop asking for correction, feel doing useless effort, or even hate EC? Oh, please don’t! :)

In fact, as I observed, members who are really active and very careful to make correction are in the lower level of English than those I mentioned. In this case, sometimes you may doubt and need to learn further for the correction. It seems to me that is okay. You must appreciate it and try to TEACH YOURSELVES.

Learning English needs a lot of patience and miles to go to master it. Every time I posted a blog post hastily, I would make a review several times since there might be many grammar mistakes, though I didn’t get any corrections. I did my own correction to improve my English skill by looking into the book or internet search, so that I would make it better next time. Almost all my blogs have correction tag or I asked for correction in sentence. I truly meant it. I expected to have corrections and actually not only from the higher level than me. So, if anyone finds an error, do let me know. I would really appreciate it. Just when you make corrections to me or others blogs, it'd be better to make sure that your corrections are reasonable. Correcting English is NOT ALWAYS EASY.

I, myself is a non-English Native Speaker, whose level is just upper-intermediate, maybe, :D. So, it’s so natural that I make mistakes time to time, especially when commenting. But sometimes, the soul of teaching in me can’t let the thing I’ve learnt be. When I see the correction tag or if anybody asks correction, I will try to find the errors VERY CAREFULLY. I won’t say anything when I’m not sure. I only fix grammar errors based on my skill. This is also the way of learning.

One of my experiences, I commented on the discussion about grammar. There I explained about the grammar I’ve learnt, but there was a doubt in the one who asked. Then, Mr. Jeffrey Raven, a fluent teacher of English justified my explanation. How happy I was! This encouraged me to learn and teach more. Thank you, Sir Jeffrey. :)

Here I just want to tell you all my dear friends, who really want to improve your English …

Keep asking for corrections!

Let’s learn together by teaching (reminding) each other and TEACH OURSELVES.

The best way to learn is 'FINDING the mistakes and NOT DOING it anymore'.

Teachers or English Native Speaker's tips or helps would be the gift for us.

Thank you very much for reading and I would like to have your opinions. :)

  • Dear Onee! That is why you consider them to be great! Ha-ha!

  • Teacher Danny, ha..ha..ha...

Okay, okay. Great people always say that. You must agree. ^_^

  • Dear Onee! You can say "great help", but I pretend to sound modest! Ha-ha!

  • My dear teacher Danny

I'm always glad to have corrections. And if I don't understand, I won't hesitate to ask or search more. I got that, teacher. Eh, but can we say a 'great help' in maybe some other cases?

Please correct me always anytime you have a time. Hehehe :) Thank you very much. ^_^

  • Dear Onee! Thank you so much for such a great comment and your warm words! But I have to correct you again. BIG HELP is incorrect. We can use an adjectove BIG describing objects that have real sizes/dimentions, like "a big room/table/city" and we can't use this word with abstract/uncountable nouns. In your case, you may say "considerable/sugnificant/appreciable help",OK?

  • Thank you, bahman. :)

  • i like that.

  • Dear Sir Danny,

How happy and so honored I feel to have those nice words from you. By the way, thank you for pointing out the error in my sentence. I got that. :)

If that is so, I'm not wrong, Sir. You are a teacher who will feel happy after sharing your knowledge and seeing your students has an improvement. What a big heart you have, Sir! I think only a few people will do so in their precious and limited vacant time. You are a BIG HELP in English Club. Thank you for your reply and thank you so much for your kindness. :)

  • Dear Onee-chan! Thank you so much for your warm words! You are a perfect learner and I CAN estimate it as I am a university teacher, just teach other subjects.

You are so right! A real teacher never stops teaching. I decided to try teaching English here resting on the health leave because I was missing my students and the process of teaching badly. And I turned out to be able to do it and to enjoy what I do. And it is so easy to enjoy teaching commmunicating with such learners like you and many others!

    Thank you all very much!

  • Dear Sir Danny,

I'm so sorry for my belated reply. I feel so honored that you visit my blog. I was speechless, didn't know what to reply. :)

Thank you so much for your words and valuation. I will always learn since English is my interest. Teacher or not, you're indeed our teacher here. You've given us many precious lessons. :)

Sure, Sir Danny. We have our own rush in the real life. I think that if a fluent Teacher is here and have a willing to teach, it will be.... wow... The real teacher never stop teaching. :) And I'm so ........... happy for that.

Well, Sir. Fluent speakers here sometimes like to share their opinions, ideas or experiences in blog. I really appreciate that they write something in English Club. We can also learn from their posts. However, some still help learners.

Again, thank you so much for your valuable comment, Sir. :)
