You may have noticed the Tags when you were publishing a blog post. Tags are just some of the key words from your blogs. Some members may add “correction” or “corrections” to the tags, which means they will appreciate corrections made by other members (usually, English teachers, native English speakers or advanced learners).
Some members, however, may find it embarrassing to be corrected that way (in public) - they may send their blogs to a teacher for correction (in private).
I just tried to make some corrections to some of the blogs (writing challenge) - knowing most of the members would appreciate it. Most of the members agree it's one of the most effective ways to learn. We may keep making the same mistakes if nobody points them out because we may be totally unware of the mistakes. We all make mistakes. Making mistakes is just part of the learning. Don't feel ashamed of making mistakes or of being corrected by others.

Thanks Tara!
Yes, and it seems most of our members will appreciate corrections. And I even suggested they ask (instead of using the correction tag) if they are not sure if they have used a word or an expression correctly.
Thanks for reminding members about this very useful tag! I love seeing this tag, and I usually try to offer at least one suggestion when I see it in a blog. Thank you also for helping with corrections. It would be wonderful if all of our advanced learners, teachers, and native English speakers helped out with corrections when they see the tag.
Thanks for the comment, Sono! Hope to read your blog soon!

@Zahra
Thanks for leaving a comment here!
Yes, Tara will try to point out the mistake if she spot one in a writing challenge blog. I hope she can correct me often - it seems she's trying to make sure we really appreciate her corrections.
Hi dear Expector Smith.
Thanks for making a post to tell us about this useful tag. I usually include this tag when I add a post. On writing challenges, whenever I add this tag, my dear teacher, Tara, helps me out with some points and corrections. It's so useful.
Thanks.
:)
Instead of letting other members point the mistakes out, you should proofread or reread your blog for any mistake. Or, I suggest members who want other members to correct them to leave a question at the end of the blog - you could ask whether you have used the grammar correctly. Hopefully, other members will give you a correct answer.
@Mickey
Great! You can say that again! Let us know if you spot a mistake in our writing, especially when the mistake is not just a typo or because of carelessness.
@Bala
Thanks for the comment! Yes, there's so much to learn and it's inevitable for learners to make mistakes when they are trying to master it.
@Anele
Yes, it seems some of the members have no idea what tags are. I added my profile name (Expector) to the tags, just in case other members want to search my blogs.
@Suri
Yes, MyEC is an English learning place, so it's reasonable for us to use a correction tag. Try to help other each by pointing out the mistakes the other members made.
Thanks a lot for letting us know about this "Correction tag"...I do welcome the correction either in public or private....and as Mickey said, if it is made in public, then its a chance for others also to learn from that...so, correction in public is more helpful, i feel.....and i dont think anybody will feel hurt or shame, since we are here in EC to learn..and English is such a vast ocean, we have to learn for our lifetime.....
If someone correct me whether in private or in public, I will be happy. In private, I can correct the mistakes secretly and learn; in public, the other readers can read them and learn from my mistakes. So that's great benefit to both the others and me, how nice! Why should I feel ashamed? Giggling.
I'm also willing to have a try to correct others, but I feel shy if I also make a mistake in the corrections. Hmmm...
