Contentment Is Bliss~!

~The discontentment and frustration that you feel is entirely your own creation.~

I found this quote on Internet, it inspired me to share my views on it.

Lets just suppose:

A person, brought up in a peaceful and simple atmosphere surrounded with people who are not running after any competition like high standards of living or a luxurious life. He/She  has the basic needs of life like; food, shelter, education, clothing and a reasonable job. Such a person with a mild or simple life style would have a peaceful mind, with no worries of competition. He/She  would lead his life calmly, as  he/she  witnessed a gentle or neutral atmosphere around  him/her. Contrary to this, a person who brought up in a surrounding where people try to become better than one another, with tough competition of a better job, better education, luxurious life style and high standards of living. A person of such environment of better living would try  his/her  hard/best  to see  him/herself  among the stars. In the race of betterment he  would/could  definitely start feeling  him/herself  depressed, frustrated or discontented. And if  he/she  failed to achieve the better standards of living he  would/could  absolutely/clearly become a pessimist or jealous person.

Supposing these incidents I tried to convey that our some feelings like; discontentment, depression or frustration are totally our own creations and can be cured easily, as these feelings are in our control. If we try to live simply and peacefully neglecting the race of betterment which is like a destruction for ourselves we  obviously/certainly  would/could  never ever sense such things. And can stop ourselves to be the victim of pessimism and discontentment

We have a control on our feelings, and we can keep a check on them by not letting ourselves to be the part of the race of  betterment/advancement. There is no harm in being contented with good or better things. It's obviously not necessary to run after the things which bring dissatisfaction or frustration for ourselves. Balanced life and keen observation towards this issue  would/could  never go in vain.

This is totally my point of view, maybe some of you disagree with me because everyone is free to think differently and allowed to have different perspectives towards different things of life.

Anah..~!

  • AR, thanks a lot for admiring and agreeing. :))

Anele dear, thanks for dropping by and sharing your views. I am glad you agree with me. :))))

  • As a teacher, I need to be part of that race you called betterment/advancement for my professional growth and to keep me abreast of everything new because education never stops from where it begins.

I agree that a teacher's life is not a peaceful life but it becomes fulfilling whenever his pupils learn from him and adopt what they learned to their lives outside the school.  Seeing a pupil become a successful doctor or lawyer someday is the pride of every teacher who becomes part of that pupil's life.

Well, I guess I was dealing with an exemptional case of being involved in the race called betterment/advancement because this race is not destructible and will not make one pessimistic.

Nevertheless, I agree with the quote 100%.  Thanks, Anah for this wonderful blog.

  • Rami I agree with you but, there is no use of such competition cause of which one become pessimist or dissatisfied! Thanks for passing by. :)

  • Without competition it won't be development. Ambition is the key for motivation. That is what make us wake everyday. We should found the balance between doing the best we can and accept what we get in return Acceptance will make you feel relax & happy.
  • Hell, lol ok I will write with spaces next time :D

  • Try to write with spaces :D .............. that's my only opinion  :D :P

  • Bob Sir, thanks a lot for appreciation. You are right practice makes a man perfect and, I am practicing a lot to avoid grammatical mistakes.

Talking about the blog I can't stop agreeing with you. :))

Chandra, thanks :) and yes I do agree on grammar issue with Expector Sir, Jonathan Sir, Luci, Seeker and Bob Sir :)

  • Wow Anah, nice blog dear! I have read all the comments and will neglect the grammar except to say that English is tricky and the more you practice the more you learn.

About your ideas, I agree that if we change our expectations we can change the way we feel. There is always some kind of stress in life but we can reduce stress if we change our lifestyles. If we don't have to worry about finances and having money to feed our families we can have a more carefree life. Life is full of choices and sometimes we make a choice that is stressful because we feel like it is necessary.
  • Haven't it taught u wisdom..this literature..good thing u found it..with that attitude u'll be a far better person than u already are.

Imho..about the singular 'they', 'them' even 'themself' are ungrammatical but they're more practical and acceptable. 'He/she', 'him/her', 'himself/herself' are grammatical but clumsy as Jonathan said..Cmiiw.

  • Jonathan Sir, thanks I will be careful next time while using it.

    :)
