Hi, everyone.
I guess that you have the same so called "racial experience" in EC when we see different people from different countries. We must admit that all of us represent their Motherlands here and we judge the countries by the people who represent it. Don't you agree with me?
Even if we proclaim that people are different and there are good and bad people in every nation we still have this ancient prejudice that, for example, all jews are greedy, all muslims are terrorists, georgians are obsessed with women and all russians are alcoholics (no offends).
These are so called "social stereotypes" about different races and nationalities that cover our planet like a spider covers a fly with its net. And I must admit that I have the same stereotypes that I try to destroy but they raise and raise again like a phoenix from the fire.

I guess that we all can think that we are better or superior than all people around us and it doesn't matter if we have the fundamental background for this or not. But when health or other problems come to your family, you can get help even from those people who were despised by us for any reason.
This long-lasting fight inside your head will last forever and it will never end. But what we can do, we can realize, feel and catch all those silly stereotypes inside us and bring them into light. And after it we should examine, prosect and destroy them.
Maybe these operations made by all of us will help to change the destination of the highway called "The human history".

Trying to share my opinion with few words, I think the story it’s cyclic, a circle. Once in a while we face ourselves with topics like that.
By cyclic I mean that racism and all kind of preconception exists since the beginning of the human race.
It was after long education system and self knowledge (wars too) we could get through dark times.
Lithuan (or neighborhood) friend, your topic shows very significant ‘cause bring up polemic issues. Like I said in the beginning, sometimes we face it.
My opinion? USE THE REASON. Do not let the circle repeat again…

you´re right, it is really a shame that ppl have prejudices and stereotypes. I think those thoughts and emotions are seeded into the minds and hearts of toddlers, yet. Once the toddler adopted them s/he will suffer from them for a whole life time. Even the brightest mind probably never will overcome them. One can lower them but never really get rid of them. It is a misery.
Me as a German always had had prejudices. Once I was a teen, many ppl from Southern Europe came to help with the economy wonder- as there have been Italians, Spainiards, Portuguese and others. I dunno why, but Germans suspected them. Later Turks came -Italians have brought a bit of their culture to us, pizza, pasta and gelati got adopted and part of german culture- it´s been them who where to suspect. Finally they brought besides Islamism also Döner Kebab and mosques -which also seems part of German culture nowadays. During the time of perstroika and glasnost russians migrated. They seemed dangerous as they came from another politcal system, plus they are sturdy ppl. As us German were prisoned in a world of social systems these Russians looked suspect to us Germans. Nowadays they are integrated in the German culture. These days ppl from Syria, Irak and Afgahanistan come running from a rough area were war is lead. They are Muslims, poor and keen on education. Also black africans and Northern Africans come. Racists fight them by litting up their quarters and protesting loudly in front of their quarters claiming Germany would drown in the flood of refugees. Although I cannot completely fight my prejudices I am interested to see how they will enrich our life and culture.
I think it is the foreigness is what provides ppl with prejudices and stereotypes. A german governor recently said. Foreigners are those one hadn´t the chance to know. Give it a try and they are no more foreigners and you don´t need to suspect them anymore. I think that holds true for the vast majority of foreigners.

Burn Bakaq, that's why I asked you. If all of us here (except me) denies that he/she doesn't have it, then where are those people who really have it? Come here, let's discuss the roots of it and destroy :)
I live in a multi-racial country with multi-linguist, multi-cultures and beliefs. So far, we know how to live together and learn to respect the religion and cultures of others. Therefore, this leads to tolerance. In fact, there no barriers between human beings, these so-called barriers are being created by human beings. To be god or bad does not depend to religion or races. So why I have to be prejudices and stereotypes to others?

Treat people the way you want to be treated and treat them the way they want to be treated. Respect and learn from others, appreciate a difference, bridging the cultural gaps, reject unfair stereotypes, thus achieved equality attitude and also prohibits the existence of discrimination against minorities. Although we socialize with different people and different beliefs, but the peace of life remains a priority.
