Chocolate Bars

Past seven. Dark streets. People homebound. I stood still. Waiting.

A golden heart who’ll share her piece of manna. I headed towards her winding through the crowd; hoping, praying, believing. I poked her arm. She glanced.

She smiled; shot me bullets of questions. My address, my mother, my father, my school. Then she took her ride, and she told me to go home, and she left.

She glanced back. Threw something. Chocolate bars. I smiled. She is my angel tonight.
