Have you heard of the Budapest -Bamako rally?
This year's rally has just started off on the 15th of january, and the participants are still on their way form Budapest to Mali.
The major part of them had just crossed the Atlas Mountains a few days ago,but everyone takes their own rhythm and time....
Their slogan is:Anyone,by anything,by any means.....
Anyone can take part on this event, with any kind of vehicle and team, there aren't strict rules of it:enter the event
This event is more, than a simple rally,it has became a movement already.
Open for anyone, who feels like doing a fun thing;visiting nice lands, meeting gentle people and interesting cultures,by driving through the wild deserts and roads of Africa.
The Budapest-Bamako is also called a Caravan Humanitaire.
This Rally has started just 2 years ago,and it's a big success story for the organizers.
It is the biggest charity rally in Africa. In 2009 and 2010 they have delivered close to 700,000 Euros worth of aid.
Certain teams are going there with ambulance cars, and leave it there in the finish,to the benefit of the inhabitants, and return home by plane.
I like to watch the travelogues from their journeys,it's always interesting.
