Nothing in this world can substitute blood, blood has been circulating inside of us since we were born and till the last breath warms our body. To describe here more about blood from the medicine´s view would be work for a doctor, my task is to show you in this blog something interesting, informative and maybe you will even learn new things.
As we all know without blood nobody can survive.
So first of all I would like to appeal to you for thinking about donating blood if possible because to live with the awareness that I was able to help somebody in need, that my blood saved somebody's life, this is what life is about, to help each other, to feel useful and last but not least to be proud of own acts.
Let me share now some interesting facts about blood I have come across:
Every newborn baby has about one cup of blood in its body.
How many mosquitos would have to completely drain blood of your body? 1.200.000 !!!
In one adult human body there are 100.000 miles (160.934 km) of blood vessels!
One pint (1,9 litres) of donated blood can save 3 lives.
As for the blood types I found out after checking many websites that the most common blood type is 0 or A, then there are these with B blood type and at the end of the charts are people with AB blood type (ehm like me). Actually, I am talking in general because it might little bit differ from country to country.
By the way do u know that in Japan they believe that blood type determine personality? If u know your blood type, check the text bellow, maybe u will get to know something new about yourself or maybe you will just find it entertaining:
If you want to learn more, check this website, which was my source as for the personality and blood types: http://www.in5d.com/blood-type-reveals-personality.html
Blood Type 0
Type O’s are outgoing, and very social. They are initiators, although they don’t always finish what they start. Creative and popular, they love to be the center of attention and appear very self confident.
Blood Type A
While outwardly calm, they have such high standards (perfectionists) that they tend to be balls of nerves on the inside. Type A’s are the most artistic of the blood groups. They can be shy, are conscientious, trustworthy, and sensitive.
Blood Type B
Goal oriented and strong minded, type B’s will start a task and continue it until completed, and completed well. Type B’s are the individualists of the blood group categories and find their own way in life.
Blood Type AB
Type AB’s are the split personalities of the blood groups. They can be both outgoing and shy, confident and timid. While responsible, too much responsibility will cause a problem. They are trustworthy and like to help others.
Anyway, why not to learn something new. Here I am coming with some English idioms about blood, so please have a look:
Blood and guts
If there is shown too much violence and blood. For instance in the news or you watch some action movie or horror movie full of brutality.
Example: The movie was all blood and guts, I was unable to watch it till the end.
Blood, sweat and tears
If something is hard work for us and we will have to sacrify a lot, suffer or even go through some pain, we can use this idiom.
Example: To build up our house, it took us blood, sweat and tears.
Blue blood
These who were born with blue blood are usually people whose ancestors belong to aristocratic or royal families.
Example: Prince George is for sure blue-blooded as a new member of British royal family.
To have someone´s blood on hands
Usually killer can have blood on hands so it is somebody who murdered people or was responsible for some crime related to the violence. We can say this even indirectly if that one person didn´t kill anybody but thanks to their orders people died.
Example: People lately debate if president Obama has blood on hands or not.
New blood
New people, members who appear somewhere, means we can call them in general new blood.
Example: I have noticed new blood here around on EC lately.
Thank you for reading my blog and hope that tonight won´t visit you any vampire to suck your blood, so better prevent yourself from them and eat a lot of garlic before you fall asleep :-D
