You told me that you would stay at Le Meridian:) Le Meridian hotel ,located on Surawong Road, lies in the heart of Bangkok. After work, you can enjoy walking along Surawong , Silom and Sathorn Road where there are many food shops and I bet you will enjoy incredible Thai foods :) and many traditonal items to buy for souvenir .You can take the skytrain to view Bangkok at night time .
Siam Paragon and Central World are the top shopping mall in Asia. After work, you can easily go there by the skytrian from Le Meridian..
You will have one free day so The Grand Palace and Wat Pra Kaew really are places you must visit. Both have historical significance and are extreamely beautiful places.
For your one day free..If you like shopping, I recommend Chatuchak market ( Bangkok weekend market ).
What you can dream it up, Chatuchak probably has it. Here, you will be amazed at the sheer variety of merchandise, whether a Moroccan lamp, an antique wooden chest, a pair of vintage Levi’s jeans, or, on the exotic side, a python , Clothing & Accessories ,Handicrafts Ceramics, Art work, Books Antiques and Collectibles Miscellaneous :)
Before You Go to Chatuchak
Wear light and comfortable clothing, e.g. shorts and a t-shirt/tank-top Wear comfortable shoes, e.g. a pair of sneakers or sandals Protect yourself against the sun, by wearing sunglasses, a hat and use sunscreen Bring a backpack for storing your new-found treasures. It is recommended that you wear your backpack on the front rather than on your back Always have bottled drinking water handy Bring enough cash. Most vendors do not accept credit cards, and it can be a long walk to the next ATM Beware of pickpockets and watch your belongings Plan to go in the morning, as it can get very hot and crowded in the afternoon Free maps are available from one of the information kiosks
Welcome to Bangkok (in Thailand). I don't know you would like to go shopping? if yes,
I would like to recommend at the Sunday Market that have a lot of things for your shopping,
such as home-decorate equipment, art, clothes, etc, so I think the price of goods is not expensive, as for me, I also like to go to Sunday Market if I have chance, because there has everything that I want.
Note: a foreigner always like to shopping in there, and it is open on every Saturday & Sunday,
and you can go to there by a sky train (easy to go). Don't miss this shopping!
