as an english learner

I'm on duty though it's Sunday today.

Another worker and I are in the office and time passes slowly.

I like to work on holidays because the silence helps me concentrate on working.

I've been an english learner for a long time, but i've never though of myself as a good learner.

i think most Japanese have the same thoughts as mine.

Although there are so many schools which provide us with opportunities to learn English with native speakers, we Japanese are not good at English.

At first i thought the differences between Japanese and Engluish have prevented us from acquiring that language, but now, i begin to think that the Japanese are not capable of learning other languages, or we are not used to learning them for some reason.

Actually, I don't know how i can improve my english skill.

One American friend, who is very good at Japanese, says that it's important to WRITE to learn other languages.

That's why I've joined this website and started to write blogs.

I hope it works.

aw,

it's already lunch time.

  • Thanks for your reply. :)

I can't even imagine how hard it can be for Japanese to learn English. But the good thing is, that there should be at least a lot of learning materials around. Since English is so widely used language.

Japanese sure is a nice language. I like it too, but kanji seems a very horrible thing. I'm so glad, that I did not born as Japanese, otherwise I would have had to learn it too.

Well my mother tongue isn't so easy either. I'm actually very bad at writing in it. even though we use characters that u call romanji there. I'm so terribly bad at grammar. :P
  • Hi, Hardi. Thank you for your comment.
I can understand some parts of your opinion =). We sometimes have difficulities in learning Kanji actually. But we also know Kanji is also beautiful when we learn its origin. It can be one reason why we never stop learning it, i think :).
As you know, Japanese is one of the most complicated languages in the world.
So if i were born in your country, I would have the same thought as you.
To think about learning languages and finding differences can be the first step to know each other and broaden our point of view. That's why we keep on learning.
  • I have always thought that there's something weird with Japanese people. U guys use kanji for writing. Seriously! Why? Although u guys have invented kana already long time ago, you still waste time to learn those horrible characters.. How it come that u can learn all those scribbles, while having difficulties of learning English..

And hiragana looks so much more beautiful than kanji for me..
  • Hi, Vicky. Thank you for your comment =). I'll keep working and enjoy learning English here :).
