The future of cognitive chips
Scientists are trying to build a neurosynaptic chip system with ten billion neurons and hundred trillion synapses, all while consuming only one kilowatt of power and occupying less than two liters of olume. It is fantastic, Isn't it ??
As the time going on these neurosynaptic chips will be complementary to cognitive systems like Watson, namely, the right-brain and left-brain of cognitive systems. Watson, the left-brain, focuses on language and analytical thinking - the cognitive chips address senses and pattern recognition. Over the coming years, IBM scientists hope to meld the two capabilities together, just as the human right-brain functions are combined with the left-brain functions, to create a holistic computing intelligence.
Humans are not part of the equation, yet in cognitive computing, humans and machines work together. To enable a natural interaction between them, cognitive computing systems use image and speech recognition as their eyes and ears to understand the world and interact more seamlessly with humans. It provides a feedback loop for machines and humans to learn from and teach one another. By using visual analytics and data visualization techniques, cognitive computers can display data in a visually compelling way that enlightens humans and helps them make decisions based on data.

Yes, you are right, artificial intelligence is indeed already superior to humans in some respects. But not in everything and not everywhere. Now we are at the stage when we need AI. As I am a beginner game artist, I am growing quickly using AI. Check this game developer blog to actually see what i mean. You can see some amazing art in the mentioned references in the article. But without humans AI can't do that now.
It's just a great tool for us today. And I want us to stop at this point.
Because if you really delve into the subject, there's not much that threatens us at the moment. But what AI might become in the future is really a little scary.
Artificial Intelligence is very interesting science which can give human ease of survive.
But also, it could result in extinction of human, very scared.
In a nutshell, what i am saying is "Machine can surpass human eventually by human itself".
Occasionally, some applications based on principle bring great effect beyond expectation and imagination. such as birth of atom bomb based on Einstein's simple equation.
Likewise, the principle which brain is designed to complex of many neural networks with over billlions' neurons, would bring above imagination to be true.
As blogger said, there are some basic techniques to be developped such as vision recognition, sound recognition, and also synthesis of them.
fact is those sub branches are already surpassing human's. so the only left one is combination of them.
How would machine which supasses human deal with us human???
