I've noticed that some of our active members are so tired of unpleasant things or members here and even considering leaving MyEC, or rather, some of them may have found MyEC was not so good a place to stay put and already left. That's so bad for MyEC itself and for those who loved and had to leave it - I'm so sorry for that, too.
So many members here find MyEC is one of the best English-leaning places and they may have said to themselves that "MyEC is just the site I've been trying to look for." when they first sign up here. They may still agree that MyEC is so helpful for their English learning, even though they don't agree with some of the bloggers or whoever is doing or saying indecent things in the chat room. Yes, such things happen, and, anyway, we are here to learn English. Do we need to be so worried about the few "black sheep"? Can we work togher and try to help make MyEC a decent and nice place? But, members here should know:
1. MyEC is not the right place for you to talk about religion, patriotism, or sex. I know you are probably trying to show that your country is the best or your religion is perfect, or you're so interested in sex or pornography or erotology. There're plenty of sites for such things, but not here, so you should refrain from expecting such things here.
2. MyEC is not the right place for you to quarrel with or insult each other. You've got a lot of sites where you can use any bad language or insulting expression, or you can even call somebody names.
3. MyEC is not the right place to plagiarize. You're allowed to share something nice, but if you're trying to share something by others (not yours), you should make sure you're not plagiarizing - you could share a link to the original website.
So, you see, MyEC is just such a decent place, the right place for you to learn or teach English, for you to make friends, for you to admire or respect or cherish each other.

I do really agree with you, Expector. I come here for learning English and having friendship. When it comes to debate in a common way, I still love to comment in a common/general way, though. Thanks a lot for pointing it out. :)

Thanks a million, Expector Smith, for writing such a wonderful blog. Many people need this kind of reminder again and again so that they don't cross their limits. I fully agree with what you wrote in your blog. Everybody should know that MyEC is a place to learn English and make friends. It's not a place to offend others and spread hate. I'm really glad that trouble makers left EC, maybe because they didn't receive the kind of response they expected from EC members. They perhaps thought they would succeed in their malicious agenda.

Great minds think alike! In fact, I was hoping to see your comment on this topic. When I've published a blog post, I'll look forward to comments, especially those from members like you. I've noticed some of my friends here failed to respond, and I assume they may not agree with me or they may have misunderstood me. Yes, I didn't mean you're not allowed to talk about such things as religion, nationalism, or sex here, but MyEC is really not the right place for such thing. Theoretically, you're allowed to talk about any thing here unless your topic is offending or you're plagiarizing.
BTW, I've noticed you have changed your profile name from Bob to Mr.Bob. Does that mean you don't want people to call you Bob, or you just want people to show more respect by calling you Mr. Bob?:)) .
You have been reading my mind Expector. I know we report members for spam and if they are pretty abusive we need to report them too. As you say, this place is for learning English.
If you read something you don't agree with then maybe you shouldn't comment. That being said, certain topics are more likely to cause problems. That is why we have said before that they should be off limits. Nationalism will always find someone to disagree with you. Sex is not a polite thing to be discussing here anyway and the topic of religion is certain find people of other faiths who disagree. If I say my religion is the only correct one or that your religion is wrong, I am obviously looking for trouble.
Religion is a good thing, just not a good thing to talk about on a public site like this. Belief in your own country is also good, but is best when kept to yourself when we are trying to work together with people from all over. Sex is also a good thing, but not something to talk about here.

Yes, there's nothing wrong about religion or politics itself. And, I think it's quite acceptable for you to try to know how others think of such things. But, I don't think it's a good idea to try to prove which religion is the best or better or stupid. So, I do mean that religion or politics or patriotism is not so suitable or safe a topic to talk about here. Sex, or rather, pornography is definitely a taboo topic here, though. BTW, I enjoyed reading your blogs.
