Greetings Everyone!
First off, I'd like to thank all those who read my blog "A rant about nothing! :D" and took their precious time to write such awesome comments. A billion thanks to all those, too, who hit the like button. I owe you all a great debt of gratitude. It was so kind of you. I was pretty scared before publishing my blog because I didn't write in a while and I myself found the blog awful. These are not just words, I mean it. So I wasn't really expecting many comments but you proved me wrong. You know, your response made me feel nostalgic. Similar thing happened when I wrote my first blog a couple of years back. As it was my first try and I never wrote a blog before, I wasn't expecting any comments but my close friends'. However, I was extremely surprised as response was overwhelming and everyone encouraged me beyond my imagination. To be honest, if it wasn't for MyEC, I wouldn't be able to write a single sentence correctly. Thank you so much again!!
Secondly, I just finished reading "Divergent" by Veronica Roth. I didn't like it much, to be honest. While reading, I wished I didn't start reading it. Maybe, it was my mistake that I didn't stop reading the novel when I realized that it's not going to offer anything interesting. However, I kept expecting that story would eventually evolve into something decent but it didn't. I wasted three precious days of my life for it. :( Perhaps The Huger Games were still fresh in my mind and they were so impressively written that when I started reading the "Divergent", I was expecting something really incredible. That could be the reason that I didn't find the book good enough.
Last but not the least, I'm going to read "The Lord of Rings" now. I don't know why but I feel like I'm not going to waste any time this instance. It somehow looks promising to me. Wish me luck. :)
Thank you for reading! :)
Have a pleasant weekend! :)

I have the book "The Lord of Rings" but when I pick it up to read I got sleepy. Once I watched its movies, 9 hour duration. 3 CDs. Wow, I got so tired. How could I read that book.
Kamusta Nida, maayos akin babaee. I hope to be one of your friends.
As someone who is trying to take up the reading habit, "just read, without expectation" is an important lesson I learned from this rant of yours :D
Thanks for another entertaining blog, sweetie! :) (and sorry for this short comment; it is all I got :D )
Nida, The Hobbit takes place before the other books and needs to be the first one you read. It introduces the important characters and history. If you started with another book you need to stop and wait until you get the Hobbit and then read it first.
First my dear, it wasn't a couple of years ago but in 2010 that you finally wrote that first blog (even if it only seems like a short time to you). And, I must emphasize that I am even more proud of you now than I was that day you first published. You and Lady Anne both began your exalted careers as EC writers the last half of that year. You have both continued to give us good writing when you've had time to do it for five years now.
As for this blog, I am glad to hear that you continued to stay with a book even when you weren't completely thrilled with it. Many books that I have read are slow in the beginning and by sticking it out I have been rewarded many times. I read the Lord of the Rings books every few years, even though I know what will happen. They are still exciting and good books are something I like to revisit after I have forgotten a few of the details and then I get to rediscover them again.
I see that Lady Anne (not Ann) remembers the Hobbit and the character that captivated so many' people's curiosity when the movie was made. You might not know that JRR Tolkien wrote this book for his son while he was at war and sent him chapters to read while he was in the trenches in Europe. The idea of a world war and evil trying to erase the good in the world comes out clearly in the series if you think about it. Happy reading and let me know if you ever manage to finish my favorite book :D
Well, well, well....
Don't tell me that you will be absent again for several days because of "Lord of the Rings". Based from your ranting, you could consume 3 days for a pocketbook. So this time, you're going to consume 9 days for "Lord of the Rings" because it is a trilogy.
I am also picky when it comes to reading novels. Maybe, pickier than you because when I read something good, I always want the next material to be better. This is just one of the few maltreatments that we give to the many advantages of reading.
Anyway, where your happiness lies, there my happiness lies also. I just want to inform you that when you are already reading that book, you will encounter the cutest character in that story. I won't tell you his name but he always rants his favorite words which are "My Precious". I guess you won't call your beloved friends "Your Precious" when you come to know the real intention of calling someone by these words.
Reading should be for pleasure, if a book is boring, I stop reading it, because it discourage me of learning English. The most important thing in learning English for me is reading interesting materials.
Whenever I try to read 'Lord of the Ring" I never get ahead after few pages then fell sleep holding the book in hands.
If you will be able to read it, this will be a very encouraging for me.
@Setareh,
Thanks a million, dear, for your nice words. I appreciate them. :)
@Megaparsec,
Hmmm, so even movie wasn't good. Do tell me how you find it after watching The Hunger Games.
Thank you for your lovely comment. :)
