Another day of weekend filled with work, scheduled tasks and meeting. As last Saturdays, going to work on foot along the riverside of the Seine in early morning when most people do sleep, take some fresh air and feel the ease of mind in hearing early bird singing and mild music from the ipod with the volume turned up and down almost unintentionally. The walking takes nearly an hour but for me it is worth…The work done, going out immediately, taking the subway to get home quickly for some other tasks (doing the laundry, cleaning up the messes…) that had been planned to finish before a given time to talk to people of family. I wasn’t overwhelmed today, but sometimes I was…The conversations to dear people set me at my ease. As I would have to go to a friend meeting, the talk winded up a bit earlier than usual. After a short nap that I really needed, I was woken up by an ordered phone call from...Vietnam. The meeting was just to cheer a friend who successfully defended his PhD thesis in economics at university Paris 1, Pantheon-Sorbonne several days ago. I was so impressed by his oral english ability (he wrote and defended his dissertation in english), his self-confidence and profound knowledge in the field manifesting by the way he answered all the questions of professors examiners, just as if he was giving a lecture and always by a very good english…The meeting party was organized at the house of the professor advisor of his work where I saw some other new friends (Vietnameses and Vietnamese French). We drank, ate some vietnamese food and talked about many things in a friendly atsmosphere. The talk also referred to a fellow-country man who could not speak Vietnamese but does bring an entirely vietnamese name - Liem Hoang Ngoc, he was elected as Member of European Parliament (MEP) in the last elections taken place between 4 and 6 june 2009. Being university lecturer at Pantheon Sorbonne University, he is a specialist in labor economics, expert at the French Socialist Party and author of numerous scientific publications. He was born in 1964 in Saigon, Vietnam but moved with family to live in France in 1968. he joined the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in 1989 after his doctoral work in economics. He became a member of the National Council of French Socialist Party in 2003 and National Delegate for Economy in 2005...Getting back home at early hours of new day but at that time on saturday in Paris people don't really feel or realize that it's already night...
