I was angry with my brother last week. He wanted his son to marry his neighbor and I wanted him for my daughter. He knew that both his son and my daughter were in love. Yesterday my daughter told me to meet her. I picked her up at the door of her school. She explained to me about her plan to visit her uncle for an hour. "Just an hour daddy", she said.
They say that an hour is a long time in some ways and short in others. You can sit and watch TV or spend one hour talking with friends. You can drive from one town to the other in an hour, take a flight from one country to the other, or wait for your turn at a gas station for fuel. An hour is enough time to visit a relative or a friend. In an hour you can make a decision which changes your entire career. You can meet someone who might be with you for the rest of your life. All these thoughts came across my head and she was waiting for me to give her permission to visit her uncle. Indeed life is very strange sometimes. Why did all those ideas come across my head?
Possibly, I was thinking that during that one hour, my daughter could do something to change my brother's mind.

Yeah one hour or even one minute can do wonders in life :)
I asked the moon,
If there is anything more than love,
It swore by its light,
That there is nothing,
Brighter than love.....
Things can happen and change in seconds but it was "an hour" your daughter needed to persuade and convince her uncle and to show him the brighter side of her love towards his son and you being a father had lots of reasonable questions in your mind, that's natural....
Hopefully... an hour for your daughter is fruitful and she could convince her uncle....
sometimes life is not always working like what i want, sir
maybe just her love can change every thing
Time is money .
Sometimes what we want, we don't really get. We get disappointed! But then we get something more precious. Bad things happened for a good reason sometimes.
with the "something" you have talked above, i think that your daughter wanted to solves the problem.
this is for you, and this is NOT an order or command for you, just read the following:
you and your brother, sit down and talk about your problem as a father (a mature man) and,,
do not talk as a boy (amateur man).
Nice story..That's true life is very strange
congratulations Dara. I liked it reading your topic. It sounds strange to me since we don't proceed that way in our culture then it amazed me but , as parent of a daughter, I understand the narrator of the story and his/her worries about her daughter's decisions in life. Keep writing that's delightful. At least for me it is always pleasant to read interesting stories, specially those that are so different from my culture.
they come spontaneously, when you least expect them to, and then quickly float away before you can capture them?
