Certainly, you’ve been a guest once, twice or multiple times in your life to an event, as mankind wants to celebrate almost every memorable moments under the sun, wedding, graduation, feast, birthdays, baptismal, death day… etc. etc. Have you noticed something? Look around you; can you imagine all corners of that venue? How does it look like? Is it well pleasing? Appropriately designed? The ambiance of the area fits the concept of the celebration? For sure it does! Well, the particular event wasn’t done in just a blink of an eye or sway of you Fairy God Mother’s wand, nor a wish granted upon that shooting star.

Fortunately, I have an idea what’s going on backstage, behind those colorful outlines. This is just a normal offer back then, somebody approached me if I want to join Artist Guild Committee in my church, and the group’s purpose of establishment was to ensure the artistic landscape of Church’s stage and every corner of that praying area for us, where we dwell once a week for quite some time now. Every other week, we will brainstorm for something beautiful and propose a plan for it, submit the ideas to our Coordinators, and once agreed we will execute the design. My real intention in joining the Committee was very simple, just to help them out, for the reason that I see how vital manpower is to achieve one’s goal. I accepted the offer to be a member not because I believe I’m artistic, but I believe I have strength to give a hand.

As time goes by, church members starting to commend how pleasing the hallways are, how magnificent the stage is, the lovely curtains that well blended to the wall’s paint color. They began to ask if we could help them out organizing their children’s birthday parties, we didn’t think twice as we would like that effort to be a gift to their children, the happy face of those kids when seeing how beautiful Barbie theme was and the sort. Oh, that day was really awesome! My heart was overwhelmed by their praises how we accomplished designing tasks. I’m so happy, that I’ve got addicted to it.

Our amateur skills of drafting one’s events became a word of mouth to all members, and the last project we recently were done was for my friend’s wedding, it was so enchanting! After work, I went to the venue. I've brought some braided plastic flowers that will be a backdrop’s layout, the wedding’s motif was blue and white, and the plan was we will fill the area with butterflies and balloons. We need to fix all chairs with special blue satin cloth and tied it with a ribbon. We help technical people to set-up/install media/ sound system, projectors, and monitor. Fantastic feeling, really! The hotel personnel asked one of my colleagues if we are a commercialized event organizer, he answered we’re not, we’re just putting our efforts and help for free. So the saying that there is no free lunch isn’t true to us. :D
Every time I’m doing something for other people, and see that they’re happy about it, they’re satisfied and left with an amazing look, was a truly heartfelt experienced for me. You’ll see that in my eyes.

I would like to thank God for such opportunity to share myself with other people.

Don't worry kuya, I don't see people as bothersome to my life, (but of course not those perverts!), if I can help someone, I'm willingly obliged to extend a hand, that's how Filipino is, even if it looks like abusive, we still find some ways to help other people.
