Airplanes in My Life

The United Arab Emirates is one of the most developed countries in the world, and it constantly works on the improvement of its infrastructure. One of the primary needs of every advanced state is covering distances within the shortest time possible. The transport system of the UAE offers various locomotion services to tourists and citizens. The role of air transport in this country is vital since it contributes to its social and economic spheres of development. This paper aims to investigate the airplanes system of the United Arab Emirates and its impact on the state’s prosperity https://top-papers.com/buy-coursework/.

The topic I chose for this paper is airplanes in the UAE. Except the two biggest airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, there are five smaller ones. Moreover, the government launched the project of building a new airport in Jebel Ali, which will be bigger than London’s Heathrow. Airplanes in the UAE are used mainly for international flights. Emirates, Air Arabia, Etihad, and Fly Dubai are among the most well-known airlines in the UAE. Almost every emirate has its own airline.

The major advantage of traveling by plane is high speed, since air travel allows to cross thousands of kilometers only in a couple of hours. It is especially convenient when one has limited time. Moreover, an air trip is not that tiring compared to the one by train or bus. Nowadays, airlines offer high quality services: air travel companies provide their clients with food, beverages, and any additional help needed. Airplanes can take passengers to places inaccessible by other means of transportation. Among the drawbacks of traveling by airplane are expensive tickets, luggage limitation, and electronic devices usage restrictions. In addition, this means of transport greatly depends on weather conditions. In cases of heavy storms or poor visibility, airline may cancel flights. Besides, passengers have to arrive at the airport at least two hours before the departure to check in, which is not always comfortable.

Over the recent years, the aviation market in the Middle East, especially in the UAE, has significantly widened. In his interview, Etihad’s chief executive James Hogan said that the UAE has entered “a new era of global aviation” (Menon, 2012). The city of Dubai has become a regional center for business and tourist aviation. Many charter carriers are trying to open new offices and register a large number of new jets. The companies that deal with the integrated maintenance, including fixed-base operators (FBOs), hope that the development of aviation in the UAE in connection with the commissioning of the new international airport Al Maktoum in Jebel Ali will continue.

According to the experts’ estimations, the airport will be the largest aviation complex in the world. Al Maktoum was opened in June 2010б with one of the six take-off runways completely operational. The authors of the project say that it will have “the capacity to serve 160 million passengers and 12 million tons of freight annually” (United Arab Emirates. Delegation to the International civil Aviation Organization, n.d.).

One of the main management bodies of the airport, Executive Jet Center, performs specialized services that target the integrated maintenance of airplanes. The Center plans to construct 60 platforms for business jets of all sizes. Such UAE companies as ExecuJet Middle East and Jet Aviation Dubai continue to invest in the development of Dubai International Airport, which in the nearest future may be fully reoriented towards business aviation. This step will help to divide the passenger flow according to customer needs. ExecuJet Middle East and Jet Aviation Dubai have received the attestation of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which allows servicing the aircrafts from the European Union. It is a big achievement, as it will contribute to the cooperation of the UAE with the European countries.

The main problem that UAE aviation companies face is that the major part of Dubai International Airport has been almost completely erected, and there is not enough space for implementing the plan. For this reason, the leaders of ExecuJet Middle East are considering Al Maktoum to be the prospect for the development of future activities, especially taking into account that the authorities of the country have significantly expanded the area designated for hangars and planes maintenance facilities. Another city that successfully uses this type of transportation is Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi International Airport is the only airport that was awarded the Skytrax 4-Star rating. The Airport Council International named it “the Best Airport in the Middle East”. It covers over 94 destinations around the world.

The economy of the country has significantly improved due to the development of airline networks. The government invested about 58 billion dollars in the improvement of its infrastructure. According to Rory Jones, “The aviation industry contributes more than Dh145 billion ($39.47bn) to the UAE economy, or 14.7 percent of GDP.” Such profit completely justifies the costs spent by country authorities. The aviation system is vitally important to the economy of the United Arab Emirates due to it facilitating “opening foreign markets to UAE exports, lowering long-distance transport costs, and increasing the flexibility of labor supply”.

Moreover, there has been a rapid growth of private aviation in the UAE. The demand for personal jets is caused by economic growth, corporate profits, and the favorable geographical position of the United Arab Emirates. In the regional market, there has been a shift from luxurious private aircrafts, mainly used for the personal needs of wealthy people, to business jets, used by the heads of large corporations for business purposes. The constraining factor of this branch of aviation is the lack of private airports. In addition, there is not enough parking space for private planes in the general-purpose airports. Moreover, there is a shortage of qualified pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, and managers for planning flight operations. However, in the nearest future, the country plans to solve this problem because private aviation will also benefit the general development of the UAE.

The reason I chose air transport is the rapid development of this sphere in the UAE. The improvement in the transportation system, especially aviation, will change my life and the life of other UAE citizens for better. First, it will significantly shorten the time spent on travelling between remote destination points. As a result, I will be able to make my dream come true, which is to visit as many countries as possible. Second, it will benefit the economic system of the state and the financial condition of people. The richer the country is, the better is the life of people living in it. Third, the building of new terminals and take-off runways will create a great number of new job opportunities for thousands of potential workers. I may even decide to apply for a vacant position after I finish my study. Taking all the factors mentioned above into consideration, the improvements in the aviation system will change my life for better.

The UAE offers a mix of transportation means which are successfully used today and will be used in the future. Apart from the air transport, there are many other means of locomotion that people are free to choose from. The type of transportation discussed in this paper is of particular interest to me because it greatly contributes to the constant improvement of the state. Moreover, the airport network is continuously widening throughout the whole country, introducing new services and technologies, which further improves the financial state of the country and its citizens.

In conclusion, the development of aviation in the UAE plays a significant role in the prosperity of the country. It greatly contributes to the social and economic growth of the state and its citizens. The widening and building of new airports help to attract more tourists and aid in conducting business trips. The Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali is one of the most successful projects, and it already brings numerous benefits to the country. With the development of aviation, I will be able to use the services of various airlines to reach my desired destinations more quickly, and I will be even able to apply for a vacancy in one of those companies.

  • I do not have nerve to reading such a big articale on a very wide screen.  Anyway, the writer has her assignment for her own reason.  I appreciate her effort, (especially if it is not a copy paste from any net source).

    Good work.
