Again Another Letter of Farewell:

Again Another Letter of Farewell:

Last Friday another employee of the organization where I work left the company.  His tenure was very short, around a year, but being a Chartered Accountant (Fresh) he has his dreams to progress according to his Professional Qualifications.  Following is his letter of farewell which he posted to all of us on company server.

In the previous letter of farewell which I posed Eva raised this question:

“I have a question...is it only allowed to write positive things in a resignation letter?”

My prime purpose to reproduce this letter is to answer Eva’s question, because in this letter an employee’s displeasure also transpires, displeasure of being deceived, cheated by the management (or because of just individual head of department) for violating the rights of employees and un-fulfilment of commitments made to employees while hiring.

This is the letter:

“Hello Everyone

These Goodbye Emails usually have fraudulent cheese dripping off them so I’ll try to make this one a little bit more genuine, interesting, and most importantly, purposeful. Jokes aside, there were some valuable takeaways from my experience here at this organization and I think I would be doing everyone a disservice if I didn’t share.

I have during my short tenure number of people I was able to interact with all along the way. Many are still here, while some are now gone.  I want to appreciate for being a very good colleagues as well as best friends and for helping me in taking this decision at the right time..

As I leave to pursue my new career venture, I want to take the time to acknowledge my immediate boss for his expert tutelage and support during my employment. Working under his capable supervision and direction has been a guiding experience.

I consider myself very fortunate for having a chance to work with senior colleagues.  Working along with them was a great learning experience for me. I really value the knowledge and insight they have, and their willingness to share it with me.  I would also like to thank my counter parts who are still struggling to get sound footing in the organization for every experience shared, friendship made, and good times had during my stint here. I wish you all the very best in the future, but only if you wish me the same.

And now I want to give a piece of advice to the Management, thought it may be considered over reacting being is still junior, because I passed a very short tenure with this organization just around a year.

As the research shows “The more time you spend around rotten apples – those lousy, lazy, grumpy, and nasty people – the more damage you will suffer. When people are emotionally depleted, they stop focusing on their jobs and instead work on improving their moods.”

Therefore the Management need to pay special attention towards the rights of employees and should fulfill the commitment made by them towards the employees as only then they can achieve the desired outcome.

Hopefully, attention will be paid towards this suggestion and will not be taken for granted.

Regards”

I would like to explain that:

The letter I have posted is not a resignation letter.  This is a farewell letter to the colleagues, but in this particular one the out going guy decided to advise the Management to improve the environment in the company by this letter .  Today I have again received another farewell letter in my e-mail, which may post some other time.

In general your comment are correct, but what was happened to this boy, is the personal grudge of the Head of the department, not with the boy but with his boss.  This boy is Chartered Accountant, (high qualification through out the world), he was hired with some commitments, which later on hindered by the individual I referred and not fulfilled one way or the other.  So being humiliated (as he felt), could not control his emotions,  and he has joined another organization with much improved terms according to his professional qualification.

    Thanks for your comments.

  • Dear Mishaikh! sometimes people make such type resignation letter. But, as far, I know, a resignation letter should be professional, positive and polite. While leaving job, we should pay attention to make a careful and considerate resignation letter, impolite and rude letter give a negative impression to the management.

  • Risty:

When it seems decent in his this letter, it is towards his colleagues.  Where he shows displeasure, its purely relates to a member of higher management.  With his officemates he didn't face any problem, on the other hand he found them cooperative and coordinative.

    Thanks for your comments Risty.

  • Dear Mishaikh, your former fellow has a point to grumble and complain about things he believes unrighteous towards him, but I suppose that was the last letter to be sent to your management from him, it sounds decent at first and suddenly he exploded something. All of us are experiencing troubles with officemates, who doesn't? But it is how we use that to improve ourselves, those negative things are all "outside", it depends on us if we let them have the passport to be "inside".

Thanks for sharing this. Maybe I can use this too in the future, hahaha... well, so far, I'm lucky that my former bosses were nice to me and my current is exceedingly nice to me.

  • Koi baat nahi Mihsaikh janab! You welcome Mr. Mishaihk.

  • Thanks dara for your comments.

  • Ake cheez main bola, hasad! If we stop our envy and jealousy, we might stop hurting each other.  Some employees deserve more than the company gives them. We have to clean our hearts from these bad diseases. Thanks for sharing Mr. Mishaikh!
