I translated this story from Arabic to English..A woman knocks on the door of her neighbor crying and looking for her child .The neighbor is dismayed every time, and goes out with her to look for her child. Who's known as everybody knows died twenty years ago !Summit Of FriendshipWondering if we can stand by our friends and relatives in their madness, illness, trauma.or do we just want them to be 100 % a good sensible.
if you in the same place, how you can describe your feeling , we can't say I was shocked , because you know that her child died , and it was twenty years ago, and you acted the whole reaction because you want to protect her feeling, or you feel sorry for her. what I know that dismayed it combines between upset, worry, fear , confused, anxiety. if you have another idea let me know please.
to be honest I have the same feeling about dismayed :/
What a nice world to have an empathic neighbour like that woman have. I hope when and if ever I can't remember anything anymore but only the past, there would be a neighbour like that who will empathize and reminisce with me, even though it's just my memories.
I believe that if you can do that to your friends, relatives then one day there will be such people standing besides you as you need in your madness, illness, trauma... Thanks for sharing.

The word 'dismayed' does not fit here.
'Dismay" means (as per Franklin electronic dictionary) to cause to lose courage.................
Please correct if I am wrong.
