Yesterday, I received a monthly magazine to my third subscription to a website and in its cover page there is a full illustration of a bird, it looks like a brown common buzzard but neither a hawk with its big size nor a falcon with its large eyes. So, I unpacked it from its transparent sachet and I started flicking through the pages but what intrigued me the most was the cover. Well, three hours later,  I was taking my lunch and staring at the window and just In front of me, in the balcony, there is my yellow pet canary bird, chirping and singing  and just one moment later, I noticed an unusual small brownish bird flying through the air in front of the slide transparent windows where there is my canary, this bird looks physically almost like a winter Wren (I am not into ornithology), by hovering on the window, it looks like it is sending a alarming signal to my canary of a curious stand nearby and I noticed a strange demeanor of my canary as it was responding to that signal and then it has instantly stopped. I finished eating my meal and went to the bathroom to wash my hands and brush my teeth and at that moment, my brother went to the kitchen to take his meal, 5 minutes later, I heard a dash, it sounded like someone who noticed something and rushed to it, as I hurried in haste to see what happened, I saw my brother holding the canary cage and a shocking or let’s say a mourning expression on his face, I took a look at the cage and what I saw was the dying canary with some splash of blood on the grate. I inquired about what happened and he told me that he saw a buzzard bursting in the canary birdcage and in a blink of an eye, the buzzard inserted its sharp beak into the canary’s fragile body and it died instantly. At that moment when my brother rushed to save the canary it was too late to intervene and the buzzard flew away, it all happened in a heartbeat. It was very distressing to see. Today, I noticed that magazine with the buzzard illustration on its cover and I thought it has maybe a correlation to what happened yesterday. Is this just a mere strange coincidence or...?

  • It's not so strange and yes, it's a 'coincidence'. I've heard similar stories but with magpies instead of buzzards (since they also live in cities) They just find an 'easy' lunch.

Anyway if you really like birds, please, don't follow Luci's advice (even if she gives very good advice many times) and don't buy more birds. Birds should be flying free... That's why they have wings!

  • @Ms.Risty - Haha, I was pretty hungry, what can I do ? :D e too, I am not fan of imprisoning birds in cages but even if I try to free it, it is even worse ,It won't survive in such rough environment as it never experienced living outdoor and I bought it already in a birdcage, it will wind up get devoured by other predators. So, I think it is not a good idea to capture such birds in the first place. And I will not get another one. Thank you so much, Ms.Rity for your humanitarian thoughts, i really appreciate it, haha just wait for the next level. Next time, you will risk having Dysphagia :D

  • @Batuhan - Haha, thanks for the tip. I just wanted to elucidate and give more details to my narrated prose, this is my way of writing, I wanted to make you imagine the scene just like when you read a script and try to make a film based on the details mentioned. No problem, bro. I will try to cope with that, it happens sometimes. Thank you for your comment and concern, much appreciated :)

  • @Luci - Yes, that's right, it is unbelievable what happened yesterday, at that point I couldn't really expect such thing to happen, as my canary have been here for a long time. Sometimes, you can't predict a certain event to happen.Yes, it was a mere strange coincidence, and that's for sure. But isn't that weird? I don't think I am going to purchase another bird, Lucy. I believe that these birds have to live in their natural habitat and not need to get imprisoned for things they didn't do (for being innocent birds). Haha, since you said that, I will try to write some long utterances in my next blog and you are going to suffer again :D Btw, thank you for you appreciable comment ;)

  • @Mishaikh - Thank you so much for your comment. :) That's certainly true. As some animals are quite observant, they are capable of recognizing calls of other species about a warning from predators or an indication of a certain danger before it happens and I guess it is inherited in their instinctive natural behavior.Just like for the example that you gave me about a prior detection of earthquake before it actually happens, they have this acute ability of sensing their environment so to predict the unpredictable.

  • Mr. Bill, I told you, don't eat dictionary for breakfast. Notwithstanding, condolences to your pet, though I'm not a fan of people who like to cage birds as I know they are suppose to live freely with the environment. I will not advise you to have another one but you can volunteer to some bird lover organization. For the greater good. I enjoyed reading this, at least not so tough to absorb unlike the previous.
Thanks for sharing this to us.
  • It is very sad to lose a pet, especially as it had the same name like me...if I remember you called it Luci. Well, the message of this blog is clear to me. Did a cover of the magazine predict the future of your birdie? My answer is... NO, it was just coinscidence, Mr. Bill. I hope, you will soon purchase another cute canary and will be once more again happily whistling with it! Friendly Note: Try to shorten your sentences plz :)
  • I only know that birds and animal can feel the disaster in prior to occurrence.  Like before earthquake, they start running to the safe place as early as possible, in the same way, I haven seen birds flying to their shelters before the rain starts.

These are all in their instinct .
