A few years a go I noticed a talented actress because the part she played seemed so real and human. I saw her again in another movie where she was once again a character that I felt could be real. I am going to post a few photos of her here with some of the changes she has gone through so she can "be" the person she is playing. This was the first character I saw her play and was set in the 1920's or 1930's.This role was also very good and I felt a sympathy for her character as she was in love with someone. And here is another character with very different personality in the 1860's.You have probably seen at least one of her movies and may likely know her name. I like her not because she is a pretty lady, but because she has a lot of talent. If you can name one of her movies please do comment. If you like any of her work, I would also like to know what you liked.
The Bridget Jones' Diary was on television and I watched it again last night. My wife and daughter have both seen it many times, but I had never seen the very beginning, only the later parts. That is where I saw the advertisement for the new movie. I forgot the name but it had a number in it like 39 or 36. Maybe it was Case 39, or another word followed by 39. I was busy looking at the scary scenes and did not pay enough attention to the name.
I just saw a preview for a new movie she has coming out. The release date is October 1. It looks like it may be very scary and the kind of movie which may give small children bad dreams. Renee and a young girl were holding each other as some monster or killer was trying to tear up the door. looked scary...
The first time I saw this actor was in the movie Jerry Maguire. She played as the love interest of Tom Cruise. I was also caught by her talent in that movie. She was acting simple, but I could feel her sincerity in the role that she is portraying; her eyes speaks and acts.
Thanks Bob! I'll see the film, though I'm busy working in the hospital.
I'm glad I have managed to take time to watch some movies despite my busy schedule. I'm even a fan of some famous movie stars. I even take time to watch America's 'soap opera', such as Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Growing Pains. I do find it a good way of improving Egnlish skills to watch English movies.
It is amazing Expector. She is amazingly the same person as all the other photos, who just works so very hard to become the person of her latest role she will play. I have tremendous respect for her talent and if you ever get a chance, you must see her in "Bridget Jones' Diary". There are two where she plays the Bridget Jones role and I know it is hard to take time to watch a movie with your job, but you will never be sorry. I promise you that.
Yes my friends, I see you do know her well. I actually missed the Miss Potter movie and am waiting to see it as soon as I can. Renee can put so much of herself into a roll that you have to believe it is real. She went through great effort to put on the weight you see in that second photo, because she studied the character of Bridget Jones and felt that an important part of getting Bridget right was those additional pounds.
Which other Hollywood or Bollywood actress would try to fatten herself up to make a perfect Bridget Jones. Speaking of Bridget Jones what a beautiful story of a British girl trying reach her dreams and falling in love with someone she feels is right for her. It is such a good movie, I could watch it every week almost.
The top photo was from Chicago which was the first movie where I saw her. Her part was good in there too, but a completely different person than Bridget.
The next photo you may know is from Cold Mountain, another fabulous book made into a movie. I did not realize it was Renee when I saw that movie, but the girl she played was very impressive.
To be very honest, I was looking up Bridget Jones Diary to find the name of this actress who had touched me so much with her acting and that is when I first saw her real name. I wanted to see if she had done another movie so I could see her talent revealed in a different role. While looking I saw some other photos and was shocked that this was the same excellent actress I had seen in other good movies.
That day I learned the name Renee Zellweger and decided I would watch any movie she was in. No, I did not fall in love with her....but I did fall in love with her acting and collected a huge number of her photos so I could study the way she changes her whole appearance. Now I have to see Miss Potter :-)
Hi Bob,
You've reminded me of this excellent actress. I saw some films in which she had starred. For example, "Bridget Jones's Diary", which was very popular in my country. Her heroine gave high hope to many women of being happy, if they wanted it and did their best. The audience in Russia know this actress and appreciate her talent, so do I.
I agree with Nebia who said about her way of acting as"sincere and funny." There are a lot of actresses that differ from others only with their nice appearance, without having any talent. Even their eyes are empty -- no thoughts, no deep, sincere emotions.
Thanks for a good blog!
