I will introduce a moving story about a young Ukrainian man who made his dream come true in Japan. He is a twenty- one - year-old Ukrainian young man. He has been playing sumo since he was a child. He had also been playing judo and wrestling until he was seventeen-year-old. He won a bronze medal for third place in the Junior World Sumo Championships. He was accepted into a national university in Ukraine, but Russia invaded Ukraine at that time. He decided to go to Japan to become a professional sumo wrestler because it was his dream. He consulted with a Japanese guy on social media whom he met at the Junior World Sumo Championships. The Japanese guy was the captain of the sumo club at a Japanese university. The captain told him that he could stay with the captain's family and practice sumo in the sumo club at the Japanese university. He thanked the captain and went to Japan.
After hard training at the university, he became a professional sumo wrestler in July 2023. He continued hard training after becoming a professional sumo wrestler, and he won the Grand Sumo Tournament in November 2025. His victory was the second fastest in history. He thanked the captain and the university, his sumo master, and Japanese sumo fans. His achievement gives Ukrainian people courage and pride.

Thanks for sharing this Tam. I've heard of several stories of successful ukranian people not only in Spain but worldwide and every one of them makes me happy, I believe they're skilled people by nature. Grateful for Japan and Japanese people for embracing Yavhusishyn and other fellow citizens 🙏👏👏
Hi Estanis. Thank you for your comment. Yes, I think Ukrainian people are strong and patient. They have been bravely fighting against the Russian invasion for about 4 years, despite their military power being less than Russia's. I hope they achieve victory.
Nice topic.thans for sharing.
Hello, Adriano. You are welcome.
Kunishwa Tam. I hope to be a wrestler. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, Salah. Thank you for your comment. You like to fight?
What's his name?
His name is Danylo Yavhusishyn. His sumo wrestler's name is Aonishiki.
Thanks.
What does the "Aonishiki" mean, or it's just a rule foreign wrestlers to use a Japanese name?
You are welcome. All sumo wrestler must have own sumo wrestler's name. "Ao" means "blue" and "nishiki" means "Japanese beautiful brocade ". "Ao" is used in his sumo wrestler's name because he is from Ukraine and his national flag contains the color blue.
