A short story ( part-1)

There were colors in the sky, music in the air! Yes, it was a wholesome evening. Tatiana just returned from her class. And,  weekends was starting from next day. So, she thought she could get some free time for herself.

She was thinking what she should do fast. Nowadays, she could not eat anything. Everything which was served in their hostel- canteen seemed tasteless. Then, she decided to go to a restaurant to have snacks with her friend.

She rang and told him to come sharp, she felt really hungry. He  was waiting to get her phone call so, did not make any delay. And, after a while they both walked towards the restaurant in a jovial mood.

Noodles was her all time favorite. She ordered it for herself and asked her friend to order something. He was not hungry at all, he just needed a cup of strong coffee!

There was something in his mind. Truly, he was searching a proper time to say something to her. Tatiana had been his friend for a long time. They were very good friends, they helped each other and shared many things.

He just did not get the right time to say. And, now thinking today he must told her. Then, the food arrived and Tatiana started to devour it with great satisfaction.

Great! I got it! Thanks for the explanation.

  • Well, usually  during fasting hour a person posses strong mentality. When Holy Ramadan comes to us, we feel different, we feel we should fast to satisfy the Almighty. Though some where you know a Day of Ramadan ( fast) maybe more long ( some where it is 16 or more ). Here this year we are fasting from 3.36 am to 6.50 am. We are getting rain almost everyday. So, weather is cool. I can say, if I do not roam around to much for marketing purpose, I never feel that much thirsty. And, more over, this Holy month means  more prayer, more donation to the poor. And, as I know, this sort of practice is quite good for our health too, specially for our digestion system( as a doctor you may explain it well). But, Ramadan is mandatory for adults. Very old and sick people may give food and other things instead it ( there is a specific role in this matter and sick people may do it after getting recovery). Thanks for your quarry. And, if anyone can explain it properly please share your view.

Thanks for the explanation. That means you can't eat or drink during the day, right? What if you're too thirsty or too hungry?

  • Sometimes we cannot find the right time to say something to others, what we need is courage and break the afraid of the result after. This story has put me in the same position right now.Ahaa...thanks for sharing

  • Yes, Smith, fast/fasting means not to have food and drinks ( nothing) from dawn to dusk. We have a meal which we call '' sehri' before sunrise and we eat again after sunset, it is called' Iftar'(break) which is  followed by dinner and one can eat more before next sunrise. And, around the globe Muslim people fast for 30 days ( 1 month). Though, in other religions there is fast but most probably it is not 30 days long.

  • I'm looking forward to part 2.

By the way, in Ramadan, what does the 'fast' mean? Not to eat some food?

  • do you forget to write more line.

  • Thanks, though not sure whereas people will laugh at me or not!
