A phone call
Once I happened to live near my work place and there was no rush of traffic either. I used to go home for lunch. One day when I was having lunch, a phone call came from an Engineering Company. They used to manufacture ball bearings of very limited range. I had applied for better prospect.
When I received the phone call, someone on the other side asked me whether I could come for an interview just then. Finding their location near my work place, I agreed. After having my lunch I left to go to the place.
I was not properly dressed up, even there were sandals on my feet. In the interview, I gave answers very casually and explained my job with the existing employees. (It was the same textile company of which I have already mentioned in my previous blog in Anne’s writing challenge).
I was feeling very casual during the entire interview, and not expecting that I will be selected. After the interview was over, the interviewer (Operations Manager) asked me to join the company from next day. This delightedly surprised me. I told them that I was on job and I would have to resign first. On this, he called a man and asked him to make my appointment letter immediately, and then turned towards me saying, “You are joining after one week.”.
That one phone call changed the track of my future for better prospect.
