A Husband Store.

Maybe some of you have heard this story before. The title sound a bit ridiculous, right? But what I want to deliver here is the moral behind this story. Happy reading..

A brand new store has just opened in New York City that sells husbands. When women go to choose a husband, they have to follow the instructions at the entrance.

"You may visit this store ONLY ONCE. There are 6 floors and the value of the products increase as you ascend the flights. You may choose any items on a particular floor, or may choose to get up the next floor, but you CANNOT go back down except to exit this building".

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the 1st floor, the sign on the door reads;

"Floor 1 - These Men Have Jobs."

On the 2nd floor, the sign reads;

"Floor 2 - These Men Have Jobs and Love Kids."

And on the 3rd floor, the sign reads,

"Floor 3 - These Men Have Jobs, Love Kids and Are Extremely Good-looking."

"Wow", she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going. So she goes to the 4th floor and the sign reads;

"Floor 4 - These Men Have Jobs, Love Kids, Are Drop-dead Good-looking and Help With Housework."

"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "i can hardly stand it!"

Still, she goes to the 5th floor and the sign reads;

"Floor 5 - These Men Have Jobs, Love Kids, Are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework And Having A Strong Romantic Streak."

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the 6th floor and the sign reads....

"Floor 6 - You Are Visitor 30,460,11 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exist solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store."

The end.

Well, this just a funny story. Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental. By the way, There is a lesson when can learn from the situation, right? Maybe, a proverb "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" is the best to describe the moral of this story.

"A bird in the hand," indeed is yours, and it's surely not going anywhere unless you release it. But if you release or leave it and go for "the two in the bush," there is no guarantee you will catch them and might end up with nothing in the end. In principle, don't be greedy and stick with what good things you already have,instead of going after something you'll probably never get.

__________________________________________

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opens a New Wives Store just across the streets.

"The 1st floor has wives that love sex. The 2nd floor has wives that love sex and have money. But the 3rd through the 6th floors have never been visited."

Do you get what I mean?

Thank you for reading.

  • Thanks Setareh. Of course, I agreed with your opinion and the others too about the content of the story. So many men, so many opinions. There are pro and contra behind the story. You can use the principles of good and bad in many situations. We have to choose the boundaries of good moral and bad.

  • Your story was so intersting. Now let's see why women are choosy; because in my opinion they think about lifetime they want to have one choice and they want it to be the best while men's attitude is I will choose this one if it doesn't work I will go for the next.:D
