Dear All Friends, Hope everything is well with you.
Let me share something that impressed me about parents. We all know that we can't choose which two persons would be our parents. Sometimes, we don't have the same thought or we don't like some of their characters or decisions. However, parents are the first two persons that closest to us. Moreover, if they raised us with patience and affection. Here, I want to share the best things I learnt from them.
1. Their Perseverance and Tenacity
They started their new life from zero to hero. They used to live on the street in their early marriage, they sold newspaper, then firewood, and so many experiences in trading. My father was also a good singer and uncle was a guitarist. They used to sang on the streets and public transportation to earn a living. Family's life now is much better. I'm just proud of their perseverance and tenacity.
2. The Great Patience of My Mom
I think she is the most patient woman in the world. She also never complains of anything. She also keeps the family united.
3. Forgiving
As far as I know since I was a child they have none to be their enemy or someone they hate. There is no 'enemy' in their dictionary. Well, if ever one made them enemy, they would do less and keep doing good to him/her. They proved that everything would be back to normal or even much better.
4. Loyalty
At their age now, they are so loyal to each other. Both had been through the surgery room. I remember they accompanied each other and felt a great loss when one was sick. How sweet they are! ^_^
5. Simplicity
Despite their capability, they live in a simple way. They don't buy anything unnecessary or excessively. No luxury. When I was a child, I objected to that. Now I know what they meant.

Thanks so much everyone for your great words, sharing your stories, and lessons to me as well.
For almost all people, parents are the first persons we saw and we learned from. However and whoever they are, they deserve respect and love.
Best wishes to all parents.

Roman: "In my family we almost never say that, but I feel and everyone of us feel that we love each other,"
We are the same.
Itu chkup mod. Onee, Janah berada de bawah kaki ibu. The respect and love of the mother are very high. Let me add another thing, your worship of God is connected to being kind to them. It is said in Hadeeth, ((A person is unhappy if he is with their parents and he cannot enter paradise)). Your parents are good and ideal persons. The proof is, we have a kind and respectable moderator.
Thank you, Onee!
Have a beautiful and picturesque January! ^_^
Hi Onee! Good to know that your parents are so good and positive people!
Well... In most cases parents always try to teach their children the best.
So my best things that I have learned from my parents are almost the same as your, Rose's and Mishaikh's.
I want to add only one thing. And I don't know how to describe it clear. Whenever I watch the movies or read the stories, I see that people around the world often say to their relatives that they love them.
In my family we almost never say that, but I feel and everyone of us feel that we love each other, even if in anger we say "I hate you".
How many times I had been saying to myself in my mind "I hate that Volodia (my young brother) so much! I will remember his bad action and revenge later". But I never revenge... So 5 minutes later I am already calm and we can even do something together again or play a game or etc.
I mean that the main thing for me is to feel the love without words and to be grateful for that!
Thank you Onee, Rose, Mishaikh for sharing! :)
My parents met each other at their age of 15 (my mom) and 18 (my dad). They got married at their age of 17 and 20. It was not common in Germany to marry before the women were 18 and the men 21 years old, and their parents had to vouch for them. It was the time after the war two, and they hadn't spent much time at school during the time of the war. But my parents were smart enough to make the best of what they had learned. To be intelligent isn't only the question of school education. My parents have got 5 children, three girls, and two boys and they taught us many lessons of life.
You asked for 5 things we learned from our parents.
I will tell you.
1. To respect each life, to be unbiased against others, and to treat others as so as we also want to be treated.
2. To work for what we want to have, to appreciate it without to ask what others have, and to make the best from what we have.
3. Never to make debts.
4. Solving conflicts with our mind, not with violence because to convince people is better than to fight against them.
5. Not to give up too quickly but to bring to end what we begin.
My parents exemplified what they taught us... they were our role models.
We were not rich, but my parents always had known how to make the life rich with love and humor.
My parents were married for 60 years when my dad passed away 8 years ago at the age of 81 years. My mom is still alive, she is 85 years old.
