  • Thanks for your feedback. The word is actually spelled both ways. I prefer to limit hyphen use to encourage my students to do the same. I find that, in most cases, students use hyphens incorrectly. So, when given the option (nonnative vs. non-native), I elect not to use them. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/nonnative
